Texas saltwater anglers are reeling in an early treat this year—just in time for Memorial Day weekend. On yesterday’s episode of On the Dock, host Rick Smith spotlighted a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) announcement that’s sure to energize coastal fishermen: the federal red snapper season for private recreational anglers will open May 22, more than a week ahead of its usual June 1 start.
