Texas anglers—and many who traveled here just for the experience—made 2025 a standout year for remarkable catches, rare species, and record‑setting achievements across the state’s lakes, rivers, and coastal waters. According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Angler Recognition Program (ARP), anglers submitted an impressive 600 official applications, culminating in 44 new state records and 470 new waterbody records.
