City of Killeen offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Several departments and facilities will adjust their schedules heading into the holiday weekend to ensure residents have the information they need before making plans.
Solid Waste Services will modify trash collection routes for the holiday. Thursday, July 2, and Friday, July 3 routes will run one day early, while all other collection days will remain on their normal schedule. All solid waste facilities — including the Recycling Center — will be closed Friday.
The First National Bank Family Recreation Center will be open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, but will close on Saturday, July 4. The Lions Club Senior Center and Killeen Public Libraries will be closed both Friday and Saturday. Meanwhile, the Zenner Family Aquatic Center and Long Branch Pool will operate under normal business hours throughout the weekend.
All emergency services will continue without interruption.
City offices will reopen on Monday, July 6, for regular business hours.

Killeen residents and visitors are also invited to celebrate America’s 250th birthday at the Red White & Blue Music Festival, returning to Historic Downtown Killeen on Saturday, July 4, from 6 to 10 p.m. The free, family‑friendly event will feature live entertainment, food trucks, vendors, children’s activities, a Jeep Jam, and a fireworks show to cap off the evening.
