Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum Offers Free Summer Admission for Military Families

Beginning tomorrow, May 16, the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum will offer free admission to active‑duty military personnel and their families, including members of the National Guard and Reserve. The free admission period runs through September 7, 2026, as part of the nationwide Blue Star Museums program.

Throughout the summer, military families can explore the museum’s engaging exhibits, including its working model train, hands‑on displays, and galleries that highlight the history of Temple and the pivotal role railroads played in shaping Texas. The museum’s interactive approach offers visitors of all ages a chance to connect with local history in a meaningful way.

The Blue Star Museums initiative is a partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense and museums across the country. The program is designed to show appreciation for military families by providing enriching, educational experiences during the summer months.
