This stalled system has kept a deep plume of moisture in place, and with repeated rounds of rainfall, the flooding threat will hold through the evening. Another wave of precipitation may organize along the I‑35 corridor late tonight into early Friday morning, bringing the potential for brief but intense downpours.

As we move toward the weekend, the pattern shifts back to heat. Afternoon temperatures climb into the mid‑90s and push toward the low 100s from Saturday through early next week. With the heat returning and humidity thinning west of Highway 281, wildfire danger will stay elevated each day. Friday still carries isolated to scattered storm chances across the region, but beyond that, rain opportunities drop sharply and remain very low for most areas through early next week.

Farther south, in the Austin and San Antonio region, temperatures remain above normal through the rest of the week and into early next week.
