With water service now restored across the community, Copperas Cove ISD will reopen and resume classes Thursday morning, August 20th, at the regular time. District leaders acknowledge that the unexpected disruption made for a challenging start to the school year and extend their apologies for any inconvenience families experienced during the closure.
Although service has been restored, the district remains under a boil water notice, prompting several temporary precautions. Water fountains will be turned off at all campuses, and students are encouraged to bring bottled water from home. A limited supply of bottled water will also be available throughout the day to ensure students stay hydrated and safe.
District officials expressed appreciation for the City of Copperas Cove, whose crews worked continuously to restore water service and allow classrooms to reopen. They also thanked families, staff, and the broader community for their patience and cooperation as everyone navigated the situation together.
Bus routes will operate on their normal schedule Thursday, and a safely prepared breakfast will be available for all students who wish to participate.
As classrooms reopen, Copperas Cove ISD looks forward to regaining momentum and moving ahead with another great school year. The district says it “can’t wait to Unlock the Dawg” as students and staff return to campus.
