Copperas Cove ISD closed schools and canceled classes today as the community continues to navigate the effects of a major water main break and the resulting Stage 4C water restriction. With repair timelines still uncertain, district leaders emphasized that the decision was made out of an abundance of caution—and out of compassion for parents who need reliable time to arrange childcare and work schedules.
The district remains in constant communication with the City of Copperas Cove, monitoring progress on the repairs and evaluating when normal operations can safely resume. Officials say they will notify parents and staff directly as soon as a decision is made regarding Wednesday’s schedule.
Despite the disruption, the district expressed optimism and a desire to return to routine quickly. “We hope to see everybody back in class at our regular time on Wednesday,” the message read, underscoring both the uncertainty of the situation and the community’s resilience.
As repairs continue, families are encouraged to stay alert for district updates and remain patient as crews work to restore full water service across Copperas Cove.
