Through clinic‑to‑clinic teleaudiology, Veterans can visit a nearby clinic and connect virtually with a provider at a larger facility. For those who prefer staying home, clinic‑to‑home teleaudiology brings hearing care directly to their living room.
Remote hearing aid programming is another game‑changer. Instead of traveling for adjustments, Veterans can work with an audiologist online to fine‑tune their devices in real time. This means quicker fixes, fewer trips, and hearing aids that stay perfectly calibrated to their needs.
Supplies Delivered Right to Your Door
VA also makes it easy to maintain hearing aids. Eligible Veterans can order batteries, domes, wax guards, cleaning supplies, and drying products online at no cost. Supplies arrive by mail—usually within 7 to 10 days—making routine care simple and stress‑free. Orders can also be placed by phone or mail for those who prefer traditional methods.
Getting Started Is Simple
Veterans don’t need a referral to schedule an audiology appointment. Once enrolled in VA health care, they can book a hearing evaluation by calling their local facility, using the online appointment tool on My HealtheVet, or sending a secure message to their provider.
During the evaluation, an audiologist will test hearing, discuss lifestyle needs, and help determine whether hearing aids or other assistive technology are the right fit. Hearing aids themselves are provided at no cost, though some visits may include a co‑pay.
