Cedar Park families and park‑goers will soon see the finish line on a major upgrade to one of the city’s most popular outdoor destinations. As the Brushy Creek Sports Park Improvement Project enters its final phase, the City of Cedar Park has announced a series of temporary closures to ensure the work can be completed safely and on schedule.

Beginning February 11, the western portion of Brushy Creek Sports Park will close to the public through February 16. Starting February 17, the entire park—including the skate park and basketball court—will close through March 4 as crews complete the final stages of construction.

City officials say the closures are essential for the safety of both park users and contractors working on‑site. The timeline is also designed with the community in mind: completing the project before Spring Break will allow Cedar Park’s spring recreation programs to begin on time and give families full access to the improved facilities as the busy season approaches.

While the park itself will be closed, access to the Regional Trail will remain open. Visitors can continue to enjoy the trail by parking at Brushy Creek Lake Park.

The City of Cedar Park is thanking residents for their patience as the project wraps up. Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact the Cedar Park Recreation Center at 512‑401‑5516.

With improvements nearly complete, the community can look forward to a refreshed and more functional Brushy Creek Sports Park—just in time for spring.
