A gentle stretch of seasonal February weather settles in today, with cool temperatures holding steady through tonight. High pressure begins to build on Thursday, opening the door to a warmer pattern that will carry us into the weekend. A few northwest counties may see a brief sprinkle or light shower today, but the vast majority of the region stays dry.

The weekend looks especially inviting. Mostly sunny skies, mild afternoons, and clear, cool nights will make for classic early‑February comfort. Overnight lows will dip into the 40s and 50s, while daytime highs climb into the 70s—ideal weather for getting outside.

Looking ahead, an upper‑level disturbance arrives late Monday into Tuesday, bringing the next chance for showers. A few thunderstorms may develop, but nothing severe is expected. Aside from those rain chances, above‑normal temperatures will continue into next week.

Across the Austin and San Antonio areas, mostly sunny skies will keep highs close to typical February 4th values, ranging from the 60s to lower 70s. Northerly winds will be noticeable at times, blowing at 10 to 20 mph with gusts reaching 30 mph. Tonight turns cooler as clouds clear out, with lows settling from the upper 30s to upper 40s.

Thursday stays seasonably cool before a quick warm‑up arrives Friday and carries through much of next week. Rain chances return early in the week but remain on the lower side.
