Copperas Cove classrooms are set to benefit from new educational tools and resources, thanks to the continued generosity of the local community. On Friday, the Copperas Cove Education Foundation awarded its annual Innovative Teaching Grants, distributing $40,614 across eight campuses in Copperas Cove ISD. A total of 30 teachers and staff members received funding to enhance classroom instruction beyond the standard curriculum.

Superintendent Dr. Brent Hawkins emphasized the impact of these grants, noting that they support the district’s mission to prepare students for future success. “These tools will go above and beyond in preparing our students for countless opportunities,” Hawkins said.

Among the funded initiatives were Career & Technical Education programs in health science, digital media, and law enforcement, which received more than $16,000 in support. Additional grants will enrich learning in science, fine arts, writing, leadership, special education, and social-emotional development for students from kindergarten through high school.

Jennifer Cotter, President of the Copperas Cove Education Foundation, highlighted the importance of community involvement. “These grants help make our community schools stronger and ensure as bright a future as any parent could imagine for the students in our town,” Cotter said.

Founded in 2008, the Copperas Cove Education Foundation has awarded over $600,000 in Innovative Teaching Grants. The organization also supports students through dual credit scholarships, post-secondary education funding, and an annual recognition dinner honoring the top 10% of graduates and their most influential teachers.
