Unseasonably warm conditions continue across Central Texas and much of the eastern United States this weekend, with afternoon highs ranging from the mid-80s to low 90s. According to KNCT Meteorologist Bill Hecke, Saturday begins quietly with open skies and temperatures in the 60s, accompanied by a light southeasterly breeze. Sunshine dominates the forecast, with highs reaching the upper 80s and low 90s. Tonight and Sunday are expected to follow a similar pattern, with mild overnight lows in the mid-60s and continued dry conditions.

Looking ahead, low chances of isolated showers and thunderstorms return Monday through Wednesday as a weak cold front approaches the region. In the Austin and San Antonio area, mostly sunny skies will persist, with daytime highs remaining well above seasonal averages. The highest likelihood for thunderstorms is expected Wednesday afternoon.

Nationally, the Weather Prediction Center reports record-breaking heat across the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes, where temperatures may reach the low 90s in cities like Minneapolis, far above the seasonal norm. HeatRisk assessments indicate major conditions for much of Minnesota, with potential impacts on health systems and outdoor activities.

Meanwhile, a series of cold fronts sweeping through the western U.S. will bring significantly cooler temperatures, locally heavy rain, and mountain snow. Highs in the Great Basin and northern Rockies may be 10–20 degrees below average, with some lower elevations only reaching the 50s. Freeze Watches are in effect for parts of Oregon and Colorado. Precipitation in the interior West could lead to isolated flooding, and Winter Storm Warnings are active in Montana and Wyoming.

Along the East Coast of Florida and the central Gulf Coast, heavy rain and isolated flash flooding remain possible due to a weak surface low and easterly flow. Marginal Risks of excessive rainfall are in place, with gusty winds posing hazards for mariners and beachgoers.
