Car crashes remain a leading cause of death among children, with one occurring every 25 seconds in the U.S. Yet only 20% of parents regularly check their child’s car seat for proper installation. According to safety experts, a correctly installed car seat can reduce the risk of fatal injury by a staggering 71%.
Trained technicians will walk parents through the correct installation process, inspect existing seats, and provide free replacements when needed. To ensure proper fitting, children must be present at the event.
“This is about more than just buckling up—it’s about empowering families with knowledge and tools that could save lives,” said Gina Rodriguez, program manager for AgriLife Extension’s family and community health program.
