Veterans and their families in Central Texas will soon have a powerful opportunity to access the benefits they’ve earned, thanks to a free seminar hosted by DAV (Disabled American Veterans), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting those who served.

On Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., DAV will hold an Information Seminar at the Family Recreation Center on E. Stan Schlueter Loop in Killeen. The event is open to all veterans—no DAV membership required—and offers professional guidance on navigating the often complex claims and appeals process.

💬 What to Expect

DAV national service officers will be on-site to:

  • Explain available benefits and services
  • Assist with claims and appeals paperwork
  • Answer questions about eligibility and documentation

Veterans are encouraged to bring:

  • A valid form of identification
  • Their Social Security number
  • Any relevant military service records

🎙️ Why It Matters

DAV has helped more than 1 million veterans annually through life-changing support. These seminars are part of their nationwide outreach to ensure no veteran is left behind when it comes to accessing healthcare, compensation, education, and more.

“This is about honoring service with action,” said a DAV spokesperson. “We’re here to make sure veterans and their families get the help they deserve—without red tape or cost.”
