This evening at 5pm, The Softer Side with Carl Rossi returns with Show #327.
This episode includes a heartfelt musical tribute to Bruce Vasbinder, celebrating his 14th anniversary as host of Sock Hop Saturday Night.
Artist Spotlight: The Wildweeds

Opening the show is No Good To Cry by The Wildweeds—a soulful gem that set the tone for the evening. Formed in the mid-1960s in Connecticut, The Wildweeds were fronted by Al Anderson, who later joined NRBQ. Their sound blended blue-eyed soul with garage rock grit, and No Good To Cry became a regional hit that still resonates with fans of heartfelt, harmony-rich ballads.
NRBQ (short for New Rhythm and Blues Quartet) is a genre-defying American band formed in 1966. Known for their eclectic blend of rock, pop, jazz, blues, and even avant-garde, NRBQ has built a cult following over the decades. Al Anderson joined NRBQ in 1971 and became a key contributor to their sound, songwriting, and guitar work. His transition from regional soul-rock to national acclaim with NRBQ is part of what makes tonight’s tribute so resonant.
