On Thursday, August 7, the City of Killeen will once again team up with Carter BloodCare to host the annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive, a spirited competition between the Killeen Police Department and the Killeen Fire Department. The event runs from 9am to 3pm at the Killeen Civic & Conference Center, located at 3601 South W.S. Young Drive.

This friendly rivalry—“boots” versus “badges”—invites the public to donate blood, meet members of both departments, and cast a vote for their favorite team. While there’s no true loser in this community-driven contest, the department with fewer votes will take on the sudsy task of washing the winning team’s vehicles.
The drive not only boosts local blood supplies but also strengthens the bond between first responders and the community they serve. Donors can schedule an appointment by scanning the QR code on the event flyer or visiting Killeen’s official registration link. Limited walk-ins will be accepted.
Whether you’re Team Fire or Team Police, your donation helps save lives—and keeps the spirit of service shining bright in Killeen.
