The City of Killeen is inviting community members to take part in an environmental initiative aimed at keeping local waterways clean. The Spring Stream Cleanup will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at W.S. Young Drive and Trimmier Road.

Organized by the Stormwater section of Killeen’s Engineering division, the event focuses on clearing debris from the Trimmier Road ditch, which runs along Lowe’s Boulevard. Keeping drainage areas free of litter is essential, as they can feed into creeks and rivers, potentially carrying pollutants like trash, oil, and grease into natural water sources.
Previous cleanup events have seen volunteers collect hundreds of pounds of debris, contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment. Volunteers are encouraged to meet at the Lowe’s Home Improvement parking lot at the corner of Lowe’s Boulevard and South W.S. Young Drive. No pre-registration is required—participants can simply check in on-site.
The City of Killeen looks forward to another successful cleanup and invites residents to join the effort in preserving the community’s natural spaces. For more information, call (254) 616-3172 or visit Killeen Stormwater.
