The Austin Parks and Recreation Department’s Aquatic Division is holding its final lifeguard hiring events of the season, providing opportunities for those interested in joining the team. The events will take place from 4 pm to 8 pm on April 17 and May 1 at 2818 San Gabriel St.
With summer approaching, the department aims to recruit several hundred new lifeguards before schools let out. Austin lifeguard pay starts at $21.63 per hour, making it an attractive seasonal or long-term position.
Attendees are encouraged to complete the online application prior to the event. To finalize the hiring process, applicants must bring their social security card and a State of Texas-issued identification. Additionally, free pizza will be provided at both hiring events.
Lifeguard training and hiring begins at age 15, and there is no age limit for applicants. The Parks and Recreation Department welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and identities.
