House Creek Elementary School in Copperas Cove continues to shine on the national stage, securing yet another prestigious honor for its commitment to academic excellence. The campus was recently named to Educational Results Partnership’s 2024 Honor Roll, earning a STAR-level designation for its success in closing achievement gaps—particularly among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged student populations.

Principal Carolyn Jackson expressed immense pride in the recognition, stating, “At House Creek Elementary, we are focused on closing the achievement gap and helping all our students reach academic success. This award is a testament to our school community’s sustained focus on academic results and lifelong student learning.”

The honor is based on state testing data, specifically measuring “Masters Grade Level” scores across Texas campuses and districts. House Creek stands among an elite group—only 12% of campuses statewide met the criteria for the 2024 Honor Roll.

Copperas Cove ISD Superintendent Dr. Brent Hawkins praised the achievement, emphasizing the high standards set by House Creek: “I am incredibly proud of every single student and educator for their dedication to providing an exceptional educational experience. We are confident that more of our campuses will continue earning recognitions like this.”

This latest distinction adds to an impressive streak of accolades for House Creek. In 2023, the campus became Copperas Cove ISD’s first-ever National Blue Ribbon School, a highly coveted honor. Additionally, the school has earned a place on U.S. News & World Report’s list of Best Elementary Schools in Texas—an achievement shared with four other CCISD elementary campuses.

Beyond individual campus success, CCISD has demonstrated strong district-wide performance, consistently surpassing regional and state averages in mandated testing. According to the 2023-24 Texas Academic Progress Report, seven out of 11 CCISD campuses achieved a “B” rating or higher.
