Louis Hernandez Jr. and FABF Forge Partnership to Expand Media Technology Opportunities

Louis Hernandez Jr.’s Foundation For A Bright Future (FABF), a non-profit organization focused on supporting underprivileged children, has announced a strategic collaboration with the NAB Leadership Foundation (NABLF) and Grass Valley, a leading live media technology provider. This partnership will aim to create educational and leadership opportunities in the broadcasting and media technology sector for underrepresented students.

As part of this collaboration, FABF will fund scholarships through the Technology Apprenticeship Program (TAP) for 2025-2027, offering fellowships to students from diverse backgrounds. These fellowships will provide hands-on experience and mentorship in broadcasting and media technology fields, equipping recipients with valuable skills to enter the industry.

Louis Hernandez Jr., FABF Founder and Executive Chairman of Grass Valley, will showcase his latest book, The Digital Tsunami, at NABLF’s Focus on Leadership Speaker Series during the NAB Show. His presentation will take place on April 6, 2025, at the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, followed by a book signing event. The book delves into the technological transformations reshaping industries worldwide.

FABF and NABLF will initially target markets in New York, California, Florida, and Texas to build career pathways bridging high school and higher education. TAP students will also have opportunities to explore cutting-edge technology at Grass Valley’s NAB Show exhibit. Furthermore, the partnership seeks to secure additional funding resources to expand initiatives and increase program access for communities in need.

This collaboration reflects similar successful initiatives, such as:

  • Google’s Computer Science Education Partnership, which provides coding resources to underrepresented students.
  • Microsoft’s TEALS Program, connecting industry professionals with schools to teach computer science.
  • IBM’s P-TECH Initiative, offering pathways from high school to STEM careers with degrees and mentorships.
  • Intel’s AI for Youth Program, introducing AI education to students in collaboration with schools and governments.
  • Adobe’s Creative Cloud for Education, which supports digital creativity in educational institutions.

These programs align with FABF’s mission to empower underrepresented youth by creating sustainable opportunities in a rapidly evolving sector. Learn more about the foundation’s initiatives at FABF’s official website.
