Get Ready for Emergencies: HSEM Hosts Preparedness Pop-Up on March 19th
As Central Texas braces for wildfire threats and Severe Weather Season, the City of Austin’s Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (HSEM) is stepping up to help residents stay prepared. The next Emergency Preparedness Pop-Up will take place on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 3-6 PM at the Windsor Park Branch Library.
This event offers a valuable opportunity for community members to learn how to protect themselves and their families from hazards like wildfires, floods, and severe weather. Representatives from HSEM, alongside other city departments and emergency response partners, will be on-site to share tips, resources, and supplies. The first 25 attendees will receive an emergency supply kit, limited to one per household.
- When: Wednesday, March 19, 2025, 3-6 PM
- Where: Windsor Park Branch Library
5833 Westminster Dr., Austin, TX 78723
This pop-up is part of a monthly series hosted by HSEM, held every third Wednesday of the month in different City Council Districts. The goal is to equip residents with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate Central Texas’ diverse risks—ranging from winter storms to extreme heat, wildfires, and flooding. Preparedness is essential before, during, and after emergencies, and HSEM is here to help every step of the way.
