COPPERAS COVE – Gear up for a frigidly fun challenge as the City of Copperas Cove Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to join the 2025 Polar Bear 5K and Plunge. This exhilarating event is set to take place on Saturday, January 18th, and is part of the Cen-Tex Race Series.

Event Details:

• Start Time: 8:00 AM
• Location: City Park Pool, 1206 W Avenue B
• Online Pre-registration: runsignup.com/polarbearplunge
• Early Registration Fees: $25 + $3.50 SignUp Fee (until January 7th)
• Late Registration Fees: $35 + $4.10 SignUp Fee (until January 15th)
• On-site Registration: $35 (begins at 6:30 AM on event day)

Participants can collect their race packets on January 16th and 17th from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Copperas Cove Civic Center. The first 200 participants to pick up their packets will be guaranteed a bag, and shirts are guaranteed for those registered by January 3rd.

After the run, brave souls are invited to take a FREE Polar Bear Plunge into the City Park Pool. The event will also feature a Belly Flop Contest and Treading Water Contest starting at 10:00 AM. Participants must be at least 10 years old to join the plunge activities, and a waiver is required for those aged 10-17, to be signed by parents on-site.

There will be no parking available at the City Park Pool until the 5K concludes.
