KILLEEN – Central Texas College (CTC) celebrated the achievements of its fall 2024 graduates in a heartwarming commencement ceremony held at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center on Friday. Out of the 890 graduates from around the world, 187 participated in the local procession, receiving various degrees and certificates.
During the ceremony, CTC conferred 66 Associate of Applied Science, 74 Associate of Arts, 20 Associate of Science, and 27 Certificates of Completion. Notably, two students were honored as highest-honors graduates for maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout their degree programs.

Dr. Michele Carter, Chancellor of Central Texas College, commended the graduates for their dedication and hard work. “In achieving this significant milestone, our graduates have made an investment in their futures and a commitment to improve the world in which we live. While the pathway to their ultimate goals will vary, the tenacity and hard work of each graduate is the same. We are very proud of our graduates and look forward to hearing about the great things they will accomplish in the future,” stated Dr. Carter.

The commencement address was delivered by Killeen Mayor Debbie Nash-King, who encouraged the graduates to continue striving for excellence. “Choose your path with purpose and strive to become the best version of yourself using the skills and knowledge you have gained to create a positive impact in your community,” Nash-King said.
The ceremony highlighted the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the graduates. While most graduates were from the central Texas area, several distance learners and students from states such as Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Louisiana, Maryland, New York, South Carolina, Washington, and Wisconsin also attended. The average age of the graduates was 30, with the youngest being 17 and the eldest 67.
The graduating class also included a significant number of active-duty military personnel and their family members, reflecting CTC’s strong support for the military community. The ceremony featured 39 members of the U.S. Army, 1 member of the U.S. Navy, 1 member of the U.S. Air Force, 4 members of the U.S. Marine Corps, and 63 military family members.

The fall 2024 CTC graduates who participated in the ceremony represented a wide range of disciplines and achievements, underscoring the college’s mission to provide accessible and inclusive education opportunities for all students. The graduates are poised to make significant contributions to their communities and beyond.
