The word “Theme” appears in 91 of the songs that we play here at KNCT in our daily rotation.

Whether they are from television shows, motion pictures, or Broadway musicals, not too may stations can compete with our inventory. Both in size and quality.

Television shows include Cheers, M*A*S*H, Family Ties, L.A. Law, the Waltons, and Moonlighting.

We have movie themes from Doctor Zhivago, Lawrence of Arabia, The Pink Panther, Midnight Cowboy, Brians Song, The Winds of War, Summer of ’42, and Chariots of Fire.

We have themes for Arthur, Elvira, Forrest Gump, John Dunbar, the Godfather, Nadia, and Tara.

There are themes for Saints, including Elsewhere and Elmo.

Some are instrumentals, others are vocals, and many are both.

There are six different versions of Lara’s Theme from Doctor Zhivago and a Love Theme for The Godfather, A Man and A Woman, Elvira Madigan, Romeo and Juliet, the Apartment, The Thomas Crown Affair, Wuthering Heights, and just love itself.

We have the James Bond theme and songs from the movies Thunderball, From Russia with Love, The Spy Who Loved Me, Goldfinger, and For Your Eyes Only.

What is your favorite theme song?

Is there one out there that we don’t play?

I would love to hear from you, and if (when) you give us some great suggestions, we will add them and give you a shout out for the help.
