The Copperas Cove ISD Board of Trustees met yesterday to discuss the replacement of superintendent Dr. Joe Burns, who announced his retirement last month.

According to Kurtis Quillin, the Director of Communications and Public Information Officer for CCISD, “the board committed to a timeline for its ongoing search for the district’s next superintendent.”

A Texas Association of School Boards’ Executive Search Services team worked with the board during a special meeting on Monday, agreeing to hold multiple public hearings. Their intention is to gather feedback from the public during these future meetings and also through a Community Input Survey that is available on the district website.

The next scheduled meetings for the board will be their regular workshop at noon on October 7th, followed by their regular meeting on October 8th at 6:30pm.
