Join us every week on KNCT for Big Band Sunday from noon to 6pm. We play all of your favorite artists and songs from the Big Band era and music inspired by their lead.

In addition to the great music, we also air special programs intended to entertain and educate. This blog highlights those special segments.

Roving Reporter with Sonja Asendorf at 2:30pm

Sonja talks about the sights and sounds of the Big Band era from her perspective as a child growing up in Texas in the 1940s.

This week Sonja begins a three part series on the United States Organization or USO.

Voice of Texas Veterans with Julia Conner at 3:30pm.

The Voice of Texas Veterans with Julia Conner is a production of the Texas Veterans Commission. A new episode airs every Sunday afternoon at 3:30pm and airs again on Tuesday evenings at 6:15pm.

The Texas Veterans Commission was created in 1927 as the State Service Office to assist veterans of the Indian wars, Spanish-American War and World War I. Their purpose has always been to act as the state appointed advocate of Texas veterans as they attempt to secure the benefits rightfully earned in exchange for their service in our nation’s armed forces.

This show is for Aug 11 and 13. We feature more Fund for Veterans’ Assistance Grantees. This time they are all from the same category, Veteran Treatment Courts. Instead of Jail, it is a strict program to treat the veteran’s mental issues and stop criminal behavior.

Clubhouse Chronicles with Isabel Hubbard at 4:30pm.

With a vision to provide a world-class Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors, the Boys and Girls Club of Central Texas proudly serves 21,000 youth annually and 3,200 youth per day in 28 Club sites throughout the region.

Join host Isabel Hubbard as she chronicles the organization’s goal to keep all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, while demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.

In this week’s episode, the kids get to visit a local clothing store to get ready for school.
