Solid Waste Transfer Station Temporary Closure
The Solid Waste Department will conduct installation of a new Transfer Station crane next week. As such, the Transfer Station will be closed to the public from October 31st to November 2nd, however normal operations are scheduled to resume on Friday, November 3rd.

City of Killeen Annual Fall Festival Moves Inside to Special Event Center
The City of Killeen’s Parks and Recreation department is changing the location of its third annual Fall Festival to the Killeen Special Events Center (3301 South W S Young Drive) due to inclement weather that is forecasted. The event is this Saturday, Oct. 28 from 5-9 p.m. and is free to the public.
The Fall Festival will still feature hayrides, a pumpkin patch, candy, vendors and food trucks. The usual haunted mansion will now be a haunted maze, all decorated by the City’s Youth Advisory Commission.
The Killeen Police Department is also hosting the 4th annual Drive-thru Trunk or Treat on Oct. 28 from 6-8p.m. at the KPD headquarters (3304 Community Boulevard) and the City of Killeen is recommending door-to-door Trick-or-Treating be held on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 6-8p.m.
