Course Proposal with Personal Enrichment

  • If you are interested in teaching a non-credit short course, workshop or seminar through the Central Texas College Continuing Education Program. A general information sheet and a course proposal form are included in the link above.
  • The course proposal form will ask you a series of questions to assist you in putting your
    thoughts on paper to communicate to us what you plan to cover and how you plan to conduct
    the class. Examples of course descriptions and instructor biographies can be found in our
    current course schedule.

Healthcare Career Training

  • CPR for Healthcare Providers – The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and first aid, along with basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.
  • Clinical Medical Assistant – The clinical medical assistant works in a physician’s office or a clinic setting helping the physician carry out procedures, care for patients, perform basic lab tests and administer medications.
  • EKG Technician – EKG rhythms provide important data for the diagnosis of heart conditions. By administering EKGs, testing the electrical activity of the heart through small electrode patches attached to the body, you will be making a life-changing difference by helping people of all ages prevent and treat heart disease.
  • Pharmacy Technician – As a pharmacy technician you will help the pharmacist package or mix prescriptions, maintain client records, refer clients to the pharmacist for counseling, assist with inventory control and purchasing, as well as collect payment and coordinate billing.
  • Veterinary Assistant – As a certified veterinary assistant you will help the veterinarian or the veterinarian technician in their daily tasks. Students will learn to feed and give water to pets; examine them for signs of illness, disease or injury; clean and disinfect cages and work areas; as well as sterilize laboratory and surgical equipment in laboratories, animal hospitals and clinics.

College for Kids

College for Kids is a program run through the Continuing Education Department at Central Texas College, Killeen. Through College for Kids, students can discover new talents, meet new friends, and expand their knowledge in a fun, hands-on learning environment under the guidance of highly passionate and experienced instructors.

The Continuing Education office is in Building 136 in Room 139, located on the main Central Texas College Campus (the corner of Clear Creek and Central Texas College Drive). They can be reached Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm, and Friday, 8 to 11 am.
