The Central Texas College 2023 spring semester graduation ceremony is Friday, May 12th at the Bell County Expo Center and begins at 6:30 p.m. 

Students planning to participate in the commencement ceremony are required to attend one of the graduation orientation sessions in the Anderson Campus Center. The first on Monday, May 8th from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and the other on Tuesday, May 9th from 2-4 p.m. Graduates only need to attend one of the two sessions.

The Department of Health Sciences will host pinning ceremonies for students graduating the Licensed Vocational Nursing and Associate Degree in Nursing programs. The LVN ceremony is Thursday, May 11 at 10 a.m. in the Anderson Campus Center and the ADN ceremony follows at 1 p.m.

The library will host a reception to honor finalists for the spring “Byways: Journal of Arts and Letters” tomorrow from 3-5 p.m. in the library. The reception is free and open to the public.

The CTC Foundation will host a scholarship reception this Thursday, May 4 in the Anderson Campus 

Center, beginning at 5pm. Nearly 230 scholarships in the amount of $330,000 will be awarded.

The final spring semester Patio Café Cuisine Nights dinner is and features a Caribbean cuisine menu. Dinner is from 5:30 – 7 p.m. in the Student Center.  Reservations are required and can be made by calling (254) 526-1515.

Voting in the May General Elections is this Saturday, May 6. In Bell County, seats on the Killeen City Council, Killeen ISD board of trustees, Harker Heights City Council and the Central Texas College board of trustees are on the ballot. For the CTC board of trustees, incumbent Don Armstrong (Place 6) is opposed by Camron Cochran and Ernest Wilkerson. Incumbent Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Rex Weaver (Place 7) is unopposed. Both seats are six-year terms. For those who did not participate in early voting, a list of voting locations is available here. Voters must vote at their precinct voting location. Voting will be conducted from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

You are all invited for a little fun in the sun at the Community Field Day this Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the campus gym, located near the intersection of Bell Tower Drive and Central Texas College Drive. The event, hosted by the Kinesiology and Mental Health Services departments, includes water activities, games, food trucks and more. Tickets are $5 for individuals and $15 for a family of four.  Kids three and under are free. Proceeds benefit the Dawn Green Mental Health Awareness and kinesiology scholarships. 

And while you are in the area on Saturday, Continuing Education will host its annual College for Kids Preview Day, called – “STEMulate Your Mind.”  The event is from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Clear Creek Building and is an opportunity to meet the instructors, preview the classes offered this summer, participate in hands-on activities and register early.
