Hi everyone, this is Cindy of Hobby Memorial Library at Central Texas College.
We have so many exciting things happening this week!
Come over to the library this Wednesday for our International Day, we have folkloric dancing and a Latin American fashion show. It should be amazing dancing and beautiful costumes. That is going to start at noon, at the CTC library, and will last for about an hour. If you really can’t make it to the library, go to our Facebook page as we will be live streaming the event as well.

Speaking of live streaming, on Thursday we are going to be having one of our environmental science events, Animal Conservation for World Wildlife Day. Texas Brigades is an organization that teaches animal conservation and works with teenagers and young adults on how they can help our environment and so please. Tune in to our Facebook page at noon on March 3rd and learn all about Texas Brigades.

Switching gears from environmental science on March 9th, which is the following Wednesday, we will have Workforce Solutions of Central Texas. They love to come and do library events with us. Their event is called “Whatever happened to my dad’s job,” and is a discussion of the ever-changing workforce. They always bring amazing information, give you great resources for job hunting, give you great resources, explain trends, and we are excited that they’re coming back on March the 9th at noon on our Facebook page.
On March 21st we are back to environmental science. This one is called “Saving the Environment” as CTC Environmental Science professor Christina Sommers will talk about ways we can affect the world we live in. Make sure that you tune in at noon on March 21st, that’s also virtual on our Facebook page.
We don’t give up environmental science.
Continuing Monday, March the 28th, we have CTC Fort Hood Government professor, Doctor Leanne Temple, who’s going to talk to us about how we can contact our legislation. If we really, truly do want to work with the environment, animal conservation, climate change, pollution, composting, you name it, we need to talk to our representatives. Doctor Temple is going to talk to us about doing just that.
In April we are going to continue with many new events like a land stewardship, space, author nights, and we even have bird watching. We continuously have lots of fun activities for you guys.
Please contact us at the Hobby Memorial Library at (254) 526-1621 or at referencerequest@ctcd.edu if you’d like to do an event or you want to partner with us.
We love bringing programs and events to our community, because it’s all about helping you guys succeed.
Have a great week and we will see you at the library.
