Centex Planeteers Hetzel Horizontal
Yesterday’s episode of Centex Planeteers is available on-demand and provided tremendous tips on how to make July plastic free!

This week Jennifer addresses reducing plastic in the workplace:

  • Bin Audit – A bin audit is a great way to take stock of what waste you could be avoiding, and improve your composting and recycling habits.
  • Workplace Kitchens – Your workplace’s kitchen can be a great place to start when it comes to reducing plastic. There are some quick and easy (but impactful) changes you can make.
  • Engaging Co-Workers – Broaden your impact and encourage the people you work with to choose to refuse single-use plastic with you. You can work together to make a difference!
  • Workplace Procurement – You may be surprised by the amount of single-use plastic your company regularly obtains, and even more surprised by how easy it can be to fix it.

A star in the constellation Serpens appears to be staging a colorful demise. It’s surrounded itself with a cloud of gas and dust that glows bright red — the Red Square Nebula.

6:30 am & 12:30 pm – The Sound of Texas – Wally Warren of Conroe

8:30 am & 3:30 pm – EarthDate – What A Waste!

Modern landfills can be impressive engineering structures
It may surprise you to know that the garbage that leaves your house will be preserved for centuries—in a landfill. More than a dump, landfills are an engineered storage system.

9:30 am & 2:30 pm – Science and the Sea – Atlantic Rocks

The world’s longest mountain range is almost completely hidden from sight. It snakes 10,000 miles along the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, and peeks into view in only a few places.
