The Texas coast is gearing up for one of its most beloved traditions as the Fulton Oysterfest returns March 5–8, bringing four days of food, music, and coastal celebration to the Fulton Beach Park area. The festival grounds will once again be buzzing with energy—thrilling carnival rides, classic games, cold beer served in the festival’s iconic mugs, and rows of unique vendors offering one‑of‑a‑kind coastal treasures.
At the heart of the event is the oyster itself, celebrated in true Gulf Coast fashion. Visitors can cheer on competitors in the Raw Oyster Eating Contest, or admire the creativity on display in the Oyster Decorating Contest, both offering cash prizes for the top finishers. It’s a lively tribute to the delicious bivalve that has shaped the culture and cuisine of the region.
Music lovers will have plenty to enjoy as well, with headlining performances from Dean Adamson, Steelwater Band, Dale Watson, and Tumble Dry Low, keeping the festival grounds rocking day and night.
Active duty and retired military members receive free admission on Thursday, and kids under 12 get in free throughout the weekend—making Oysterfest a family‑friendly coastal getaway. Tickets and full event details are available at fultonoysterfest.org.
Volunteers Needed
Behind every successful Oysterfest is a dedicated team of volunteers, and organizers are calling on community members to help make this year’s event the best yet. Volunteers must be 18 or older and can choose from a variety of shifts. In appreciation, each volunteer receives a free Oysterfest T‑shirt and complimentary entry for the day they serve.
Whether you’re pouring beer, helping at the T‑shirt booth, or supporting festival operations, your time makes a real difference—and helps keep this cherished coastal tradition thriving.
The Fulton Oysterfest is more than a festival; it’s a celebration of community, culture, and coastal flavor. Mark your calendar, bring your appetite, and get ready to sip, shop, and shuck your way through one of Texas’ most iconic spring events.
