The City of Killeen is preparing for a scheduled upgrade to its utility payment system this weekend, a move that will temporarily interrupt several payment services as CentralSquare Technologies transitions its platform to a new cloud‑based environment.

The migration begins Saturday, February 14th, and is expected to take approximately 24 hours. During that window, residents will be unable to access online payment tools such as Click2Gov, as well as phone and automated payment services supported by CentralSquare. Services are expected to resume by 7 a.m. CST on Sunday, February 15th.

City officials say the upgrade is part of CentralSquare Technologies’ broader transition to a secure cloud environment hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS), one of the world’s leading cloud service providers. The move is designed to strengthen cybersecurity protections, improve system performance, and enhance overall reliability for customers.

While the migration is scheduled to minimize disruption, the City encourages residents with time‑sensitive utility payments to complete transactions before the outage or wait until services are restored on Sunday morning.

Updates will be shared on killeentexas.gov and across the City’s social media platforms.
