Mayor Debbie Nash‑King joined us for February’s episode of All Things Killeen, offering an overview of the events, planning efforts, and community response shaping the month ahead.

She highlighted three upcoming community planning meetings scheduled throughout February, each designed to gather resident input on future city projects supported by the FY 2026–2027 budget. These sessions will help guide how federal funds are invested in housing, infrastructure, and local services.

She also shared details on several major events returning to the city. The annual Daddy Daughter Dance is set for February 20 at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center, promising an evening of music, activities, and family memories.

Later in the month, the 5th Annual Motown Downtown Music Festival will take place on February 28, bringing live performances, food vendors, and community entertainment to the heart of the city.

Looking ahead to spring, Mayor Nash‑King announced the new Crawfish Fest scheduled for March 28, adding a fresh tradition to Killeen’s growing lineup of downtown events.

In addition to previewing what’s ahead, the mayor reflected on the city’s response to recent cold weather. She praised the communication team for quickly sharing updates on warming centers and resources, and she expressed gratitude to the volunteers who stepped forward to support residents during the freeze.

The February episode underscored Killeen’s focus on community engagement, preparedness, and celebration as the city moves into a busy season of planning and events.
