Sunshine takes center stage today across Central and East Texas, setting the tone for a pleasant early‑February afternoon. Highs will range from the mid‑60s in East Texas to the lower 70s west of I‑35, accompanied by a steady west wind at 10 to 15 mph.
The stretch of nice weather continues into the weekend as high pressure settles over the region. Expect bright, comfortable days with highs mainly in the 70s, while nights turn cool under clear skies, dipping into the 40s to lower 50s.
Early next week brings our next change. An upper‑level disturbance will introduce a chance of showers, with the best opportunity for rain arriving Tuesday. An isolated thunderstorm can’t be ruled out, but severe weather is not anticipated. Aside from those brief rain chances, temperatures will remain above normal through much of the week.
Across the Austin and San Antonio area, mostly sunny skies will push temperatures up to about five degrees above average for February 5th, landing in the mid‑60s to lower 70s. Winds will stay light and primarily out of the west. Tonight turns cool again, with mostly clear skies, light northerly winds, and lows falling into the 30s for most locations, with a few spots holding near 40 degrees.
Warm, well‑above‑average temperatures will dominate much of next week, with only low rain chances from early to midweek.
