Drivers in south Killeen should plan for delays early next week as the City of Killeen Engineering Department prepares for a two‑day lane closure on Dimple Street. Crews will close the southbound lane between Avenue J and Bremser Avenue on Tuesday, February 3, and Wednesday, February 4, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
The temporary closure will allow crews to install a new watermain, part of ongoing infrastructure improvements in the area. While the work is underway, the contractor will implement a traffic control plan to safely guide vehicles around the construction zone.
City officials advise motorists to expect delays, especially during peak travel times, and to use caution when approaching the work area. Drivers are also reminded to follow all posted signs and traffic control devices to ensure the safety of both workers and the public.
The project is expected to be completed within the scheduled two‑day window, pending weather conditions.
