Austin Economic Development is inviting local entrepreneurs to take part in the 2026 Small Business Fundamentals Week, scheduled for January 12–16. The annual program offers no‑fee training designed to help current and aspiring business owners strengthen essential skills and build long-term stability.

The week-long initiative features courses covering key areas such as marketing, bookkeeping, human resources, and emerging tools including artificial intelligence. Organizers say the training is intended to support both new and established entrepreneurs as they navigate the challenges of starting and growing a business.

“Small businesses are the builders behind Austin’s growth and character,” said Anthony Segura, Interim Director of Austin Economic Development. He noted that small businesses contribute significantly to the city’s economic vitality and that the program aims to equip entrepreneurs with practical tools and confidence to support their success.

Participants who complete six eligible courses will earn a Small Business Fundamentals Certificate and will be recognized at a formal event later in the year. More than 400 nonprofit and small business professionals have completed the program over the past five years.

Most 2026 classes will be held in person at Austin Economic Development’s training facility at 5202 East Ben White Boulevard, with select sessions offered virtually.
