The City of Temple is ready to shine this holiday season with the return of Holly Jolly, a month-long celebration filled with sparkling lights, joyful gatherings, and family-friendly fun throughout December.
Festivities officially kick off with Christmas at the Plaza on Saturday, November 29, setting the stage for weeks of parades, concerts, and community cheer.

Merry & Bright Holiday Lights Contest
Temple residents are invited to show off their holiday spirit in the 4th Annual Merry & Bright Holiday Lights Contest, now open through Friday, December 5. Homes across the city will be transformed into dazzling displays, featured on Temple’s interactive holiday lights map. The winning home will be honored with a keepsake award presented by Mayor Tim Davis during the City Council meeting on December 18. To enter, visit templetx.gov/holidaylights.
Rink on the Rails
For the first time ever, Temple will host an outdoor ice rink in the heart of downtown. Rink on the Rails opens Friday, December 12 and runs through Sunday, January 4, 2026, offering families and friends a magical winter experience. Whether you’re skating for the first time or continuing a cherished tradition, this new attraction promises to be a highlight of the season. Tickets are on sale now.
