The City of Harker Heights has issued a second boil water notice for parts of the community following water line repairs conducted on November 19, 2025, along Ute Trail and Yuron Trace.

Affected Areas:

  • 1601 Ute Trail through 1613 Ute Trail
  • 1812 Aztec Trace
  • 1903 Aztec Trace

According to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), reduced distribution system pressure requires customers in these areas to boil their water before use. This precaution applies to drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and washing hands or face. Vulnerable groups—including children, seniors, and individuals with weakened immune systems—are especially advised to follow these directions.

To ensure safety, water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil for two minutes, then cooled before consumption. As an alternative, residents may use bottled water or obtain water from another suitable source.

City officials emphasize that the boil water notice will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is safe. Once lifted, a rescinding notice will be issued in the same manner.

Residents are encouraged to share this information with others who may not have received the notice directly, including those in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses.
