The African Children’s Choir will return to Austin this December with two performances celebrating more than four decades of transforming lives through music, education, and hope.
The first event, the 15th annual Africa Rocks Austin Gala, will take place on Wednesday, December 3rd at 7:15 p.m. at 4824 E Cesar Chavez Street. The gala is a ticketed event and will feature special host Adrianne Palicki, known for her roles in Friday Night Lights, The Orville, and Agents of Shield. Palicki is a longtime supporter of the Choir.
The second performance will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10205 N FM 620, Austin. This event is free to attend, with donations accepted to support the Choir’s mission.
The African Children’s Choir is comprised of children ages 8 to 10 from vulnerable backgrounds across Africa. Each child has faced significant hardship, often with limited access to education. Through the Choir, they gain opportunities for schooling and personal growth, becoming symbols of resilience and hope for their communities.
Performances blend traditional hymns with African cultural sounds, while sharing stories of faith and encouragement. Choir Manager Tina Sipp noted: “The African Children’s Choir proves just how powerful music can be. These concerts not only provide hope and encouragement to our audiences, but they offer the children life-changing experiences that help shape them into future leaders.”
The Choir is part of Music for Life, an international Christian organization that provides education, discipleship, and leadership skills to thousands of children across Africa. The program aims to equip young people to rise above challenging circumstances and bring lasting change to their families and communities.
