Election Day

Early voting across Central Texas has concluded. Election Day is set for Tuesday, November 4, with polling locations in Bell County open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In Coryell County, voters will have access to eight polling locations on Tuesday, with all sites open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Giving Thanks Luncheon

The 5th Annual Giving Thanks Luncheon is less than three weeks away at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center, located at 3601 South W S Young Drive in Killeen.

In addition to that, VFW Post 9191 is putting together a free Thanksgiving dinner for seniors! Register at the front desk of the Lions Club Park Senior Center by November 14th and pick up your reserved meal on November 23rd between 11am and 1pm and be sure to have your ID card. The center is located at 1700-B East Stan Schlueter Loop in Killeen and you can call (254) 501-6399 for more information. They are open Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm and their November Senior Scoop Newsletter can be viewed and downloaded at KilleenTexas.gov/seniors.

Harker Heights Senior Recreation Program

The Harker Heights Senior Recreation Program released their November Newsletter and they wanted to share some important dates.

    • Veterans Ceremony, 6 pm, at the Harker Heights Activities Center.

    • First Fridays Music Series – Free Concert 7-9pm at Carl Levin Park.
  • November 20
    • BINGO, 1-2:30pm at the Rec Center
    • Ladies Night Out, 5pm, at Black Bear Diner
  • November 21
    • Lunch & Learn, 11:45am-1:30pm
    • Registration opens Nov. 3rd

  • Veterans Day & Thanksgiving Day weekend
    • Recreation Center will be closed in observance of these holidays.

Events at the Baca Center

The Baca Center in Round Rock put out their November and December Newsletter, which you can download by visiting BacaCenter.com.

Veterans Honored at Lamar Senior Activity Center

Each year, the Lamar Senior Activity Center sets aside a special time to honor and thank the men and women who have served in the Armed Forces. This year’s Veterans Breakfast will be held on Monday, November 10, and is free for all veterans and their special guests.

Adding to the celebration, students from Akins High School will join the event to provide special entertainment. Guests are also encouraged to view a display of photographs featuring LSAC participants who served in uniform, which will be showcased throughout the Center.

The Center, located at 2874 Shoal Crest Avenue in Austin, will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Information available at AustinTexas.gov or by calling (512) 978-2480.
