Temple Hosts Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event October 25th

This yearly event provides residents with a secure and accessible way to discard items that can’t be placed in standard trash or recycling bins. Materials accepted include chemicals, electronics, flammable substances, paint, tires, and other hazardous waste.

The City of Temple is encouraging residents to take part in the upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Collection event on Saturday, October 25th. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Temple Solid Waste Complex, located at 2611 E Avenue H.

This annual initiative offers a safe and convenient opportunity for community members to dispose of materials that are not suitable for regular trash or recycling. Accepted items include chemicals, electronics, flammables, paint, tires, and other hazardous waste.

🛞 Tire Disposal Guidelines

  • Up to 4 tires (up to 17″) may be dropped off at no charge
  • Additional tires up to 17″ – $3 each
  • Tires sized 18–22.5″ – $5 each
  • Prices double if rims are attached

🚗 Drive-Thru Safety Protocols To ensure safety and efficiency, the event will operate as a contactless drive-thru. Attendees should remain in their vehicles while staff members handle the unloading.

  • Containers must be 5 gallons or less
  • Up to 15 gallons will be accepted per person
  • Containers will not be returned
