The annual statewide hiring initiative, Hiring Red, White & You!, is set to take place on Tuesday, November 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lone Star Conference Center on Fort Hood. This event is part of a Texas-wide effort to connect military-connected individuals—including transitioning service members, veterans, spouses, reservists, and National Guard members—with employers who value their skills and experience.
Organized by Workforce Solutions of Central Texas in partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Veterans Commission, and other agencies, the event will feature more than 100 employers offering opportunities across a wide range of industries. Attendees will have the chance to meet recruiters face-to-face, explore career paths, and learn about resources available to support their employment journey.
🎙️ Spotlight on Support Services
The event was recently highlighted in the Voice of Texas Veterans radio segment with Julia Conner, which featured testimonials from past attendees at the Fort Hood event. The segment also included insights from a Texas Veterans Commission Career Advisor, who discussed the Commission’s ongoing support through workshops, resume assistance, and employment counseling available statewide.
🪖 Who Can Attend
Those with military identification or who can obtain a visitor’s pass to Fort Hood are encouraged to attend. The event is designed to foster meaningful connections and provide tools for a successful transition into civilian employment.
