Texas Folklife, the statewide organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the diverse cultural traditions of the Lone Star State, has announced the launch of its new brand identity. The refreshed visual design features a vibrant mosaic star, symbolizing the rich tapestry of folk and traditional arts that define Texas communities.

For more than four decades, Texas Folklife has played a central role in documenting and presenting the living traditions of the state—from music and storytelling to craftsmanship and community rituals. The new brand reflects both the organization’s enduring legacy and its forward-looking commitment to cultural sustainability, innovation, and statewide engagement.

“This new identity is more than a logo—it’s a reflection of who we are and who we serve,” said Dr. Elisha R. Oliver, Executive Director of Texas Folklife. “Like the people of Texas, our star is made of many pieces—unique, colorful, and Texas strong.”

The mosaic star design represents the interconnected traditions carried across generations and geographies—from the Gulf Coast to the Panhandle, and from border towns to urban centers. It underscores Texas Folklife’s mission to build community, foster relationships, and ensure that everyday artistry continues to thrive.

The rebrand marks a significant milestone in the organization’s evolution, positioning it to expand programming, strengthen statewide partnerships, and reach new audiences. Upcoming brand reveal events are scheduled for November and December, inviting the public to engage through performances, storytelling, apprenticeships, and other cultural initiatives.
