The City of Killeen Parks and Recreation Department has officially opened float registration for the 62nd Annual Killeen Christmas Parade, scheduled for Saturday, December 13 at 6 p.m. in Historic Downtown Killeen. This year’s theme, “A Cinematic Christmas,” encourages participants to design floats inspired by classic and contemporary holiday films.
Community groups, schools, businesses, and families are invited to take part in the celebration, which aims to highlight local creativity and bring festive cheer to the city. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for our community to gather, enjoy the festivities, and showcase local talent,” said Antonio Murphy, Executive Director of Parks and Recreation.
Float entries are welcome in several categories, including vehicle-based floats, decorated trucks or cars, walking or marching groups, performing ensembles, equestrian or carriage units, and other vehicle groups. Registration is required, and applications will be accepted through November 7. Entry fees are currently $25 but will increase to $50 beginning October 1.
