The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host a four-part educational series in Waco this October aimed at helping individuals manage diabetes through healthy cooking and nutrition. The program, titled Cooking Well with Diabetes, runs Thursdays from October 2nd through October 23rd, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the McLennan County AgriLife Extension office, located at 4224 Cobbs Drive.

Led by Rachel Esquivel, AgriLife Extension family and community health agent for McLennan County, the course is designed for individuals living with diabetes and those who prepare meals for them. Each session includes interactive cooking demonstrations and practical guidance on:
- Identifying carbohydrates in everyday foods
- Planning balanced, diabetes-friendly meals
- Incorporating healthy fats
- Enhancing sodium and fiber content in recipes
The program emphasizes small, sustainable changes in meal planning, shopping, and preparation that can support better health outcomes.
