Killeen residents are invited to roll up their sleeves and make a difference during the upcoming Fall Stream Clean Up on Saturday, September 20th. Hosted by the City of Killeen’s Engineering (Stormwater) team, this seasonal event focuses on preserving the health and beauty of the southern area of Nolan Creek, a vital waterway that winds through the heart of the community.

Volunteers will gather at Rotary Club Park, conveniently located across the street from the Killeen Athletic Complex and the Rosa Hereford Community Center. The clean-up kicks off in the morning, and participants are encouraged to bring gloves, wear sturdy shoes, and come ready to work together for a cleaner, safer environment.
Stream cleanups like this one play a crucial role in protecting local ecosystems, reducing pollution, and preventing stormwater runoff from carrying debris into larger water systems. Nolan Creek is not only a scenic feature of Killeen—it’s a shared resource that supports wildlife, recreation, and community pride.
Whether you’re a longtime resident or new to the area, this is a great opportunity to connect with neighbors, teach kids about environmental stewardship, and give back to the place you call home. The event is open to individuals, families, and groups.
