Starting Thursday, September 11th, motorists traveling along Stan Schlueter Loop east of Fort Hood Street should prepare for temporary lane closures as a private contractor begins work to install new turn lanes in the area. The outside eastbound lane will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., continuing through Tuesday, September 30th, weather permitting.

In addition, drivers should note a second closure beginning Tuesday, September 23rd, affecting the outside lane of the northbound off-ramp of Fort Hood Street at Stan Schlueter Loop. This closure will also run through September 30th, during the same daytime hours.

To minimize disruption, the contractor will implement a traffic control plan to safely guide vehicles around the work zone. However, delays are expected, and the City of Killeen urges all drivers to exercise caution and follow posted signage while traveling through the area.
