Residents in select areas of Killeen are being advised to boil all water prior to consumption starting Tuesday, August 26, due to scheduled maintenance on the city’s water system. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has mandated the precautionary notice to ensure public safety while waterline rehabilitation work is underway.

- Marlboro Dr (2705–2716, 2720, 2722–2724, 2727, 2731, 2735)
- Terrace Dr (2700, 2702, 2704–2711, 2714–2718 A&B) Terrace Dr (2719–2729, 2800, 2803)
- Terrace Ave (2804, 2807–2809, 2812, 2816 A&B)
- Highland Ave (915)
- Lewis St – Marlboro Mobile Home Park (2606 Lewis St, 40 trailers)
💧 What Residents Should Know:
- Water service will be interrupted on August 26 from approximately 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Once service is restored, residents must boil water before drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth.
- Water samples will be collected the following day, with results expected within 24 to 48 hours.
- The notice will remain in effect until testing confirms water safety.

City officials have notified affected residents in person or via door-hanger notices. A press release has also been issued, and local media outlets were informed prior to the repair.
This work is part of a broader waterline rehabilitation program, which includes the installation of new 6-inch water lines by private contractors. While the inconvenience is temporary, the upgrades aim to improve long-term water service reliability.
