From the Sidelines – Coach Mark Humble

This week’s From the Sidelines featured Harker Heights Head Coach Mark Humble, live from The Heights Canes. Always a pleasure to talk shop with Coach Humble, his staff, and the team. He also shared details about Our Day to Shine, a heartfelt fundraising initiative led by the Texas High School Coaches Association.

KISD Varsity Sports – Aug. 18–23 Highlights

It’s a full week of competition across Central Texas:

• 🏐 Volleyball: All five schools hit the court, with tourneys in Gatesville, Pflugerville, Rockdale, Bastrop, and head-to-head matchups like EHS vs. HHHS and CHS vs. Academy.
• 🎾 Team Tennis: Knights, Roos, and Greywolves take on Temple, Midway, and Gatesville.
• 🏈 Football Scrimmages:
  • Thursday, Aug. 21 – Vandegrift at Killeen (9 AM), Round Rock at Harker Heights (7 PM), plus Shoemaker, Ellison, and Chaparral on the road.
• 🏃 Cross Country: Hillsboro and Vista Ridge host invites for all five schools.
