On this week’s Voice of Texas Veterans with Julia Conner, we shine a light on Camp SHiEld, a nonprofit organization with a powerful mission: to collaborate in empowering Women Veterans—emotionally, socially, and physically—so SHE thrives after military service.

Camp SHiEld recognizes the unique challenges faced by Women Veterans, including the risk of homelessness and suicide. Their vision is bold and compassionate: to create a secure and comfortable recovery environment where Women Veterans and their children can heal, grow, and rebuild. This includes plans for a transitional housing program, ensuring long-term support and stability.
What sets Camp SHiEld apart is its unwavering commitment to dignity, respect, and resilience. Regardless of discharge status, every Woman Veteran is welcomed into a culture guided by integrity and compassion. Through retreats, peer support, and licensed therapy, Camp SHiEld fosters meaningful connections and a renewed sense of purpose.
